I bought this model based on the fact that it came preloaded with the Windows Office suite. However, it is just a trial version, which I only realized after spending an hour on the phone with both Amazon and Toshiba. It is very misleading, because there is a product key that comes with the machine; however, the site does not recognize it once you put it in.

“This is at best a fair net book. The screen maximum pixels is 1024×600. Which can not use the latest Yahoo email settings. The photograph images are poor quality.
I am constantly nagged by the request to buy Toshiba Online Backup. I have my own backup and do not need the commercial that I can not turn off.
I should have bought the Apple iPad. I am going to replace this with the Apple iPad.”
I am a user of 3 months old Toshiba Mini 300 Series NB305-N310 10.1-Inch Netbook – Black Onyx. after three months. the laptop started acting funny. The hinges of the screen and the base have a problem and the tension looses it and fall the lid. Upon contacting the customer care of Toshiba. they said, it is a known issue and they will replace it. The replacement cost is $15 for shipment and the repair charges of another $60.
The next issue of this net book is touchpad, the touch pad of this netbook is a kind of metal sticker stuck on the touch pad and it can come out easily and again you press it in four corner of the touchpad to use properly, and it cursor act like a 100% drunken mouse.
The screen has a poor quality wave TFT, which gives your eyes a strain and pain, end of the day, you feel like dieing with headache. The sound card drivers are funny and gives you howling sounds. You never cannot get of this unless you mute.
My conclusion is, I never recommend Toshiba to any one, It is just a brand name and very bad products in the market. At last I end up buying one acer and Hp Mini, which I am happy with it.
I received my Toshiba Mini NB305-N410BN 10.1-Inch less than a month ago. I Had an NB205 before running on the Windows XP. The NB305 runs on Windows 7 starter. I am disappointed with my purchase. the computer is very slow, In fact so slow that the courser is always behind a step making it so difficult to type anything fast. I have to take time in between so the computer can catch up with me (I am so slow in typing, in fact I type with two fingers only). The problem is that Toshiba did apparently not think about the Windows 7 demanding operating system before marketing this product to the public. Sounds like another Japanese product gone Toyota way.
The worse is that the customer service leaves you with no solution, they know it! I asked if I could convert to Windows XP! The answer was that I am on my own w/o any customer support as soon as I load Windows XP.
It is really sad to pay more for the newest product and yet you realize what they sold to you has less performance than their older product.
I am totally disappointed and most likely return my Toshiba perhaps for an ACER!
